The Cup

The page provides some pictures of the detail of the Strathcona Cup:

The crest of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club, the lion rampant in a shield surmounted by a crown

A version of the well known painting "Curlers" by Sir George Harvey

Stirling Castle

curling scene in an ice rink in Canada, possibly in Montreal

Edinburgh Castle

The coat of arms of Lord Strathcona. The shield is split into three, the top  section showing the head of a lion rampant. The middle section appears to be a hammer and pin crossed, probably referring to Lord Strathcona's connection with the Canadian Pacific Railway. The bottom section shows a canoe containing four  men paddling with a flag at the front bearing the letters NW. This may this stand for North West but its significance is not known. The shield is  surmounted by a beaver and a maple tree

A thistle representing Scotland and a tree of some sort but it does not look  like a maple!

Self Explanatory

The winners' names up to 1957. After that date the names were engraved round the base of the Cup
