Colin Baxter
(Corstorphine Curling Club)
Colin Baxter was born on 8 October 1953 and was educated at George Watson’s College in Edinburgh.
He farms the family farm, Causewood, just outside Edinburgh.
He started curling in the old Haymarket Curling rink in 1961, playing with his father, Bobby and brother Iain – both former Canadian
tourists. His Mother Club is Corstorphine CC and he is also a member of Watsonians CC
He won the Scottish National Schools Championships in 1969 and 1970, then the Scottish Championship in 1971, going on to come runner-up to Don
Duguid’s famous Canadian Rink in the Silver Broom. He won the Scottish Championship again in 1978, coming 5th in the Winnipeg Silver Broom that year. He and his brother Iain also won the National Pairs Championships twice.
