Albert Rae
(Dunfermline Curling Club)
I live in Cowdenbeath, a small town in Fife 25 miles north of Edinburgh. I have been a member of Dunfermline Curling Club since 1965, and consider
highlights to be from 1982 and 1984 when I played in a rink, which reached the last eight of the Scottish Men’s Championships in those years. Presently I am President of West of Fife Province.
I am an electrical engineer by profession and have spent my career within the Electricity Distribution/Supply Industry, working mainly across the
central belt of Scotland.
Outside of work and curling my main interest has been the Territorial Army in which I served as an Officer with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical
Engineers foe 27 years. (The Territorial Army is a part-time volunteer reserve force for the British Regular Army and is available in the event of any shortfall in manpower with particular skills)
Now retired from both the Electricity business and Territorial Army, my principal diversions are DIY repairs and building, although I hope to enhance
my reputation as a fair weather golfer outside of the curling season!
